Wanda's Handmade offers a variety of toilet paper covers as well as other fun and useful hand crocheted items.
Experienced with crocheting since 1974 when, at 9 years old, I taught myself to crochet --with occasional coaching from my Aunt Leila as I progressed.
Why toilet paper covers? Fond memories linger in my mind of the fisherman toilet paper roll cover that sat in my grandfather's bathroom. That representation of one of his favorite hobbies -- and thought of the person who gifted it -- brought a smile to him on a daily basis for many years. I began searching for a pattern so I could make a fisherman toilet paper cover like my grandfather had loved. I came across a number of patterns for toilet paper covers but just could not find one for a fisherman anywhere!
I began to make some of the covers of which I had gathered patterns and, being nudged by a friend, listed a few on ebay in January 2020. The following year I decided to try selling some on Etsy and when Michael's MakerPlace came along, I went ahead and added a third online market. By this time, I decided I would have to take the experience and, with pen and paper ready on my side table, I started figuring out how to make a fisherman!
My daughter, Emily, who was born in 1995 with multiple special needs, helps me with design ideas, inventory selection, product assembly, preparing orders for shipment, and sometimes modeling with our product.
With a variety of toilet paper covers plus baby, pet and home decor items made and sold over five years, it is now time to try having this webstore as our home base. It is our hope that you find an item in our selection that brings you pleasure while also serving a purpose.
